How to resize your GSC (Goa State Commission) signature
- 1Sign your name on a clean sheet of plain white unruled A4 paper in black or dark blue ballpoint pen. Keep the mark around 2 cm tall — not too small, not sprawling.
- 2Photograph the signature from directly above (top-down view) or scan the sheet. Good lighting prevents grey/blurry edges.
- 3Crop the image tightly so there is about 0.5 cm of white margin around the signature on all sides. Remove any ruled lines or other marks.

Goa State Commission (GSC) requires a specimen signature uploaded as a JPG image of exactly 140×80 pixels, between 10 KB and 500 KB. The signature is a legal mark of authentication and must be in your own natural running handwriting.
Block capital letters are explicitly prohibited by most conducting bodies. If you are found to have signed in capital letters, your application may be rejected during document verification even if you cleared the exam. Use black or dark blue ballpoint pen on plain white unruled paper.
The signature you submit becomes your official reference mark for all subsequent documents, including the admit card, answer sheet OMR, and joining letter. Sign the way you sign on legal documents — consistently and naturally.
Common issues & fixes
File exceeds 500 KB
Scan at a lower DPI (150 dpi is usually enough for a signature), or crop tighter. The resizer will compress to fit the range.
Grey or blurry edges
Photograph the signature in bright natural light from directly above. Ensure no shadow falls across the paper.
Signature too faint
Use a fresh ballpoint pen — not a felt-tip or pencil. Press firmly but not so hard that the pen tears the paper.
White background turns grey
This happens when the JPEG quality is set too low. The resizer keeps quality as high as possible while staying within the KB limit.
